Timelapse Travels of Harry Colebourn 1914-1918

During 1914-1918 Harry Colebourn travelled from Canada to England and then on to France and Belgium.  He spent most of his leaves in England, but returned to Canada during an extended leave in early 1918 before returning to the Front.

More information about how these maps were created can be found in the Mapping Harry Colebourn essay.

Travels of Winnie

Winnie was purchased by Harry Colebourn at the railway station in White River Ontario in August of 1914 while he was en route to Valcartier Quebec. From Quebec, Winnie accompanied Harry to the Canadian encampment at Salisbury Plain. In December 1914, Harry took Winnie to the London Zoo shortly before heading off for the Front. Larger map.
